The International Fulldome Festival of scientific popular programs “Reflections of the Universe”

We are pleased to invite you to the WEEK OF PLANETARIUMS held by the Cultural and Educational Center named after Valentina V. Tereshkova. This event is dedicated to the anniversary of the space flight made by the first female cosmonaut – Valentina V. Tereshkova.
The Festival will last for six days and will revolve around planetariums and related matters. This event aims at both professionals and novice planetarians. All attendants and participants will be able to walk through the history of the Cultural and Educational Center starting from the first draft to its construction and equipment installation, from the first word written in a script to an entertaining fulldome show. We will discuss the significance of planetariums in modern Russia and challenges that can be resolved with such innovative equipment.
June 14 – June 16, 2019. The IV International Fulldome Festival "Reflections of the Universe"
"Reflections of the Universe” is the first Russian international festival of the fulldome scientific popular programs for planetariums.
Planetarium is the one of the famous invention in the XX century. Its motherland is the Germany where the first projector of starry sky “Mark I” was invented and manufactured by german engineers of the Carl Zeiss Corporation in Yena and demonstrated to general public in October 1923. This event has opened the era of the planetariums for more than 90 years ago. The carrying of the first Russian International Fulldome Festival of scientific popular programs for the planetariums was coincided with this anniversary.
Second time the festival was conducted from 16 to 19 of June 2015 and was devoted to the space flight of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. In 2015 the Board of the Festival has decided to conducting the Festival always in June and devoting it to this event.
